Description: The objectives of the study are twofold: firstly, to set electricity tariffs to promote economic efficiency of production and consumption, and ensure financial viability of the electricity sector while taking into account social and equity considerations and secondly to provide a basis of strategy formulation for the gradual transition from existing financial-cost based tariffs to economic cost reflective tariffs, setting of targeted life-line tariffs and associated subsidy mechanism, while maintaining consumer level economic-cost based tariffs.
