Description: Windaba is Africa’s premier wind energy conference and exhibition, providing a dedicated platform for the people, organisations and ideas advancing wind energy across the continent.
Hosted by the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), the annual event brings together stakeholders from across the wind energy value chain, including government representatives and policymakers, developers, independent power producers (IPPs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), investors and financiers, manufacturers, service providers, academics and emerging businesses.
Through high-level discussions, knowledge sharing, networking and exhibition opportunities, Windaba creates a space for energy sector players to engage with each other on the issues that matter, build partnerships and identify opportunities for growth.
As the wind energy industry continues to evolve, the focus is increasingly on turning plans and commitments into tangible progress. Windaba provides an important meeting point for industry and government to engage on the policy and regulatory environment, investment, grid and infrastructure requirements; project development; localisation; skills and the broader economic opportunities associated with a growing wind energy sector.
In 2026, Windaba returns under the theme “Implementing Watt Matters: Policy. Power. People.” The theme reflects the need to move from ambition to implementation, bringing together the policy decisions, power-sector priorities and people required to accelerate delivery and build a resilient, inclusive and sustainable wind energy industry.
